i had a daughter with my girlfriend of 11 years our daughter is now 9 yrs. we broke up at the start of last year. Imet a new girl in the middle of last year and my ex-girlfriend also found herself a hus band and ever since then she has not let me see my daughter. i have never harmed her or my daughter in any way so i dont understand why she wont let me see her. she has changed her phone number so many times and i have fond it out or she always makes excuses for me not to come and see my daughter now i hear that my daughter is calling her husband daddy..

what can i do to see my daughter?

Your daughter has a right to know both of her parents and to have a relationship with both (as opposed to either parent having any rights). You can try writing to the mother setting out what you want in terms of contact. If she is agreeable then you should prepare an Application for Consent Orders which can be lodged with the Court. You can either get a solicitor to prepare the consent orders or you can get a kit directly from the court. If she doesnt agree or ignores it, you will have to prepare an Application in the Federal Magistrates Court. The web site for that court is www.fmc.gov.au.
