Am I entitled to benefits as a caregiver

I am the spouse caregiver of a disabled adult worker. Can I stay home and care for him and get paid for it?

Re: Am I entitled to benefits as a caregiver

No. I assume you are referring to the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or the California Family Rights Act (CFRA). These laws allow qualified employees to take time off work to care for a close family member, for up to 12 weeks within a 12 month period, and have your job held for you. But employers do not have to pay for the time off. You can exhaust whatever accrued sick and vacation time you have, but that is all.

You can ask your employer to allow you to work from home but they do not have to agree to this.
