FREE LEGAL QUESTION:My cousin was convicted of murder and sentanced to life in 2007, but he is totally innocent and we believe that he was rail raoded. My question to you is: what college's that practice law would be interested in looking into his case? Thank

I believe that it is the University of New York that runs the Innocents Project, but that deals only with cases involving DNA based convictions. You would have to goggle the topic to see if any colleges [I think New College of Law in San Francisco handles the inestigation of some criminal cases] have programs that cover this type of work.

I know you feel your cousin is innocent. Almost every jail/prison inmate will tell you they are innocent. Get all the facts in the case, talk to the lawyers who defended and prosecuted the case to see if they will tell you anything [it might be confidential]. For your own peace of mind you should find out what the real facts are, but do not be surprised if they show he might have committted the crime.
