Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

How long do I have to make changes

My bankruptcy was discharged 2 months ago. I included my car in the bankruptcy. I have been diligently making my monthly payments, and never missing one. I have decided I would like to try and get a better vehicle...can I still turn my car over to the finance company without any negative reprecussions? Thank you.

I assume that you did not reaffirm the car debt. If that's the case, you can return the car without any further financial obligation. If you did reaffirm, you're bound by the reaffirmation agreement.

If you did not sign a reaffirmation agreement with the finance company you will not be liable for a deficiency claim. If you are not sure if you signed a reaffirmation agrreement consult your attorney.
