Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Obtaining Creditor Information

I had my own business at one time, but it failed. I lost everything and could not find work for over a year. All of my finanacial records were in storage, however, the contents of the storage space were auctioned off for non-payment.

If I am considering filing bankruptcy, how would I go about finding out who all of my creditors are and what is owed?

I was told a while ago when applying for credit, that some creditors had written off the debt, but how do I know this for sure?

Re: Obtaining Creditor Information

Well, assuming that you really can't remember who your creditors are, I would suggest that you obtain a copy of your credit report. That would at least give you a starting point.
