Legal Question in Business Law in California

Advertising contract

I just asked a question about some ads I placed with a ''church bulletin'' advertising company.

If I cannot pay for them using checks, and they don't seem very willing to negotiate an end to the contract (by my paying for the ads that have already run and ending the contract), then would it be better to apply the entire bill to a credit card and then do a ''balance transfer'' to a 0% annual APR card.

I can afford 12 small payments, and could probably pay off the balance in 6 months.

I'd rather do that than wreck my credit. (I haven't made any payments yet - this is my second payment due. Does that make me ''seriously delinquent''? - 0% credit card app says you can't be ''seriously delinquent'' on any bills)

Re: Advertising contract

Lawyers should confine themselves to giving legal advice, not personal or business advice without a strong legal implication. An exception is when the lawyer is well acquainted with the client's business and is, perhaps, a board member or otherwise an insider. Hence, I think this question calls for a response or input from a personal financial advisor rather than a stranger who happens to practice law. Nevertheless, I can say that if I personally were confronted with the same choice, I'd probably do the credit card and balance transfer. This seems like a reasonable way to dig yourself out from this deep hole at minimal risk to your credit rating. Read all credit card and balance transfer offer rules very carefully before you make any moves.
