Legal Question in Business Law in California

Our Auto Mechanic Uniform contract is up in nov 1 and we want to cancel but then the company say we have to do it with written inform 30-60 days prior to contract end date or else we will auto renew for another 3 year. This is insane do they have the right to do that even our contract date is approaching can i just cancel?

Does the contract have an auto-renewal provision?? If so, then yes, it would renew. You may want to have a lawyer write a letter threatening to sue them, that may help you get out of it.

It depends on the terms of the contract you already have. You need to pull out a copy and read it. If it says you must give notice between 30 and 60 days of the renewal date that you are cancelling or it will auto-renew, then you agreed to it and that is what you have to abide by unless you want to try to breach the contract and pay lawyers to defend you.

I think that no judge would require that the lease would be renewed if you give immediate notice, although you have a 50 % chance of the judge ruling against you.
