Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

My ex-boyfriend posted some photos of us when we are still together in a social networking website that I found somewhat offensive for me and that affects my work relationship with my co workers since those who have seen it are all talking about it. Is there any legal charges I can file against him?

There is nothing effective you can do to remove them from the web, ever; they are now in the 'public domain' and beyond your control. You shouldn't have taken inappropriate pictures or done inappropriate things that would come back to haunt you. Suing him might be satisfying, even though probably expensive and useless, but he can further spread the pictures, make a big issue of it online to draw attention that will get others to spread them endlessly, no matter what you do. The more fuss you make about them, the wider they will spread through people's porno curiosity. You can not "un-cook an apple". Welcome to the great open and unregulated web where people have the 'freedom' to express themselves, and to the actual consequences of behavior, unintended or not.

You can have an attorney demand he take them down. Let me know if you want to take action.
