Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Form Interrogatories-general and request for admissions

Are these forms optional or manda-tory, or can the court impose sancti-

on or penalties if I fail to respond

and answer the questions that the plaintiff and her attorney are requesting and does my response

have to be in proper legal form or

may I just wright the plaintiffs attorney stating that I deny and I will see him in court.

Re: Form Interrogatories-general and request for admissions

This is how people who act as their own lawyer lose cases. You have to answer the interrogatories, etc. the right way. If you don't answer on time, or in exactly the right way, you get sanctioned. Of course, the other side is always claiming you did it wrong, and you don't know how to respond to their motions, so you get sanctioned again. After a few rounds of this, the case gets dismissed, and you lose.
