Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

If I have a written agreement with a person and I take them to small claims court and win, would that mean that the whole written and signed contract is null and void (because, there is potential to sue above the small claims reward amount in the contract)?

Ok, so I win, but considering the fact that I can sue beyond the contract for other losses, would these other losses have to be in small claims, or would I have to go to a higher court?

If you already sued and won on breach of contract claim you are probably at the end of the road, except for collecting on the judgment. If the other losses are related to the breach they should have been addressed in the first suit. You can't keeping suing the same person for damages that incurred for the same event.
