Legal Question in Technology Law in California

fax and e-mail broadcasts to a customer list

Want to know what the law is pertaining to bulk faxes being sent out from a business to a list of customers.

I heard that it was illegal, but something possibly has recently passed allowing a company to be able to send to its current account listing?

re: broadcast faxes and e-mails

Thank you

There was a recent change to the federal law governing fax advertising.

The federal law governing email advertising remains unchanged since 2004.

The Junk Fax Prevention Act is an amendment to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

The bill number was S.714.
