Legal Question in Technology Law in California

Yahoo! mail account deleted

When I tried to logon to my Yahoo! mail account on June 13th I received a msg saying that my account had been deleted because I hadn't used it in 3 months or that I had requested it to be deleted. And it cannot be restored.

I did not request that it be deleted and I have been using this account daily since 2000. I do know that they back up their systems and they can restore the accounts.

On the next business day I drove to Yahoo! to get this situation resolved & was allowed to speak to a Security Manager who I gave the report of what happened. I asked that my account be restored & the employee who deleted my account be reprimanded for that action without informing me beforehand just like ALL of their systems ask the user ''Are you sure you want to delete this?'' giving the user the option of a YES or a NO to reply.

I have contacted the Security Manager 3 additional times now saying I have not heard anything from Customer Care in 4 weeks now!

What are my options? Can I take them to Small Claims Court? What would be the charges filed? I have lost critical data for work with my clients in addition to research time and information lost. My clients are upset with what's happened making me look bad in their eyes. WhataremyOptions?

Re: Yahoo! mail account deleted

When you signed up for your account you agreed to Yahoo's terms of service. Those terms spell out Yahoo's duties to you and your rights if it breaches those duties. I don't know what those terms are, so I can't say what rights you might have.
