Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Does CA have ''Lemon Law'' or similar for Consumer Products other than vehicles?

4 years ago I purchased a wine storage cabinet with a 5 year warranty. To date, I have had this unit repaired 4 times, 3 times for one recurring problem. Recently, I have experienced the recurring problem again. I have contacted the manufacturer and they would like a chance to fix this recurring problem for a 4th time. I have lost all confidence in this unit to perform without having to be repaired annually. I want to know if I have the right to demand that the manufacturer take this unit back and refund my monies in full or part. Does CA have something similar to the Lemon Law that applies to consumer products other than vehicles?

California does not have that kind of a lemon law. However, since the Mfg. gave you a written warranty there are laws that do offer assistance. I would need to look at the written warranty to advise you of your rights. You can fax this to me at (818) 225-8707. There is no charge for this. Tell the Mfg. that the only way that you will allow them to repair again is if they promise to refund your money if this next repair does not work.
