medical billing/collection

my son went into the emergency room complaining of a stomach ache

he was treated for stomach flu. we received a bill for over $10,000, for which

i think we are being overcharged.

If it was an emergency room visit, that does seem steep. If he had been admitted for a night of observation, that might not be too much. You might call the billing office to discuss this matter.

The charges could be high, but we do not know what tests, if any, they did. You should call billing and ask for an explanation. If you still dispute the charges, there are services that will help you determine the fair value of the services you received. However, these services can be expensive.
