Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Merchant account

I want to cancel my credit card priocessing account due to the fact that they are absolutely TERRIBLE! I have had such bad luck with them, you can never get through without massive holds, they dont do anything by email, as others do, every little thing is a hassle with them. And they changed my fees from $10.00 to $25.00/month, even though I had a contract. The problem is that the salesperson snuck into my agreement that its a 3-year contract. So they are allowed to raise my fees any time they want even under contract, but I cannot make a change to the contract? Seems highly unfair. Now they are trying to charge me $600 to cancel the account. How can I fight this?

Re: Merchant account

The sales person snuck something into your contract? In other words, you signed the contract without reading it.

Let me guess, MBF Leasing or Northern Leasing? These companies are infamous for doing the things you wrote about and other deceptive/unfair things. There is a class action pending in NY and I think I know an attorney who is pursuing them for some folks here in CA. Contact me if you want me to put you in touch with them.
