How do I answer a summons?

How do I answer a summons? I received a summons last week. I am being sued by a collection agency for an old credit card bill. The summons came from San Franciso Superior Court. But I now live in Portland, Oregon.

You either file a demurrer, a motion to quash or an answer. These have been discussed here in detail. Search the archives. I have also written about this on my blog, www.californiadebtblog.com.

If you have not received any papers of case or copy of any documents than firstly you have to rquest to agency for supply of the same so that you may know the nature of the case and for that you have to make yourself available on day mentioned in the summon or you put your appearance through your attorney

You need to file a formal answer with the court, or a demurrer. Your best option it to retain legal counsel to assist or represent you period, as you may be exempt from this old debt by virtue of expiration of the statute of limitations.
