Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

could I be charged with a felony

I was given credit from a rent to own type of store and I was given a computer, a big screen t.v. and surround sound stereo system from this business on a rent to own term. the total amount owed for the equipment was around $5,000 that was with finace charges and everything with a 3 year payment plan, making payments every 2 weeks. Money got tight for me and I ended up selling it to my friend and stop making payments on the equipment, that I had leased. The company that I leased it from then started coming to my house daily scarring my kid telling him that I was going to jail, calling my work daily asking for my work schedule and wanting to talk to me. After they had been told numerous times that I couldn't have phone calls at work place. Then after I didn't contact them they began to come to my place of employment asking for me and if I wasn't there they would ask for my work schedule. Everyone told them that I had moved from my house because we thought that would stop them from coming there and scarring my child with there threats. They have left messages on my cell phone that they were going to turn this over to the police and I was going to get felony charges can this really happen if I don't return their stuff to them
