Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I am being sent to collections for a tuition fee at a school I never attended. I have appealed to the college twice to drop the fees, as I was mistakenly enrolled online while researching a possible class schedule, but NEVER attended any classes- but they have refused to budge. Do I have any recourse?
