Both creditors and individuals must elect sound financial strategies. The former mismanaged investments and then received government bailouts. The latter--overwhelmed by the former's interest rates... well, they're still waiting on their bailouts. Yet, government protection is provided through the federal bankruptcy system. Seek local counsel to see if comprehensive legal debt relief is in the cards for you.
