Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Law firm placed bad deb on credit report without proof of debt. Legal?

A while a go, I recieved a letter from an attorney who had purchased an alleged debt from Bank of America. However, my last records show that I actually have a credit balance on my account. I have sent a letter via registered mail (and they recieved it) stating that I needed proof of the debt by means of bank statements that I never recieved. Recently, they have sent me statements but not the ones for which I have requested. Are they allowed to list this debt on my credit report if they can't prove that it exists? What are my options and how do I get it removed from my credit report?

You may have a lawsuit against the attorney if you have documentation that the debt is paid and he refuses to remove it from your credit report. If you fax your proof and credit report to 714 363 0229, I will provide you with free consultation.

You need to write all three credit reporting agencies and tell them the facts behind the erroneous reporting. You should work with the law firm-Eskanos & Adler I'm guessing-to straighten out the mess. Keep detailed records of all correspondence and conversations. You should be able to fix the problem with some preserverence and good records.
