Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

How do I obtain a release of lien once the satisfaction of judgement is filed

I had a judgement against my company in 1996 and it was paid in full January 1997 however, the person never filed the satisfaction of judgement. In addition, he placed a lien on my home. I have since proven the judgement was satisfied and the court filed the paperwork but how do I get the lien removed? I have unsuccessfully tried to find the person but so far have been unable to locate him. Can I file the release of lien now that the satisfaction of judgement has been filed?

If the court has records showing the judgment has been paid, you can record a certified copy of that document with the county recorder.
