Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

payday loans. i have several out now. one loan they said i owe 432 and i need to pay it or they will put me in jail. i paid the 432 and now they say i owe 1100 and i need to pay that today or they can put me in jail. is this true?

No they cannot put you in jail; all they can do is sue you.

They cannot put you into jail. In fact, threatening to do so is a violation of several debt collection laws. The next time they call you, tell them you do not owe the debt and to stop calling you.

You can not be put in jail. You should see an attorney who is familiar with FDCPA violations
