Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Reps from CC Companies that can not speak understandable English

I am trying to communicate with the CC Companies that I owe money to. I Have written to the companies and explained my situation which is that I am on Social Security Disabilty and with the increased cost of gas, food and heating I can no longer meet the minimum monthly payment. I Am still paying what I can each month. I am getting the expected phone calls and when I take a call in order to try to work out a payment plan, I get a person that cannot speak enough English that I can understand what they are requiring. I don't want to agree to something when I can't understand them. I Have asked them to put someone else on that can speak English without an accent and they just keep on with their repitiore. What do I do??

Tell them never to call you again. Otherwise, it would be a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

You might want to consider other debt relief options.
