Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Hello. I have been trying for some time to clear an inaccuracy on my credit report. I followed up with the creditor and twice they verified that I was reported late in error and agreed to fix the inaccuracy, but they never did. I filed disputes with all three credit bureaus but they verified the information as correct. What is my next step? I have all the appropriate documentation to show that I was never late. I will take legal action if necessary. Do I send a demand letter to the credit bureaus or the creditor at this point? Thank you,

Sophia
