Wage garnishment

I have just received a request to garnish my wages for a debt that i was never served on. The matter went to court and i did not even know about it. now they are attempting to garnish my wages. Is there anything that I can do to stop the garnishment?

If you dispute the debt, you can move the court to set aside the judgment and default. You can also file for a hardship exemption and also a stay pending the hearing on your motion to set aside. You might want to speak with a lawyer in your area because it does get a bit complicated.
