Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

i need to have a a wage garnishment served onto a sub contractor that is doing a clown act at a festival can i serve the "authorized person to received serve" with a wage garnishment ? i understand that its a one time shot rather then a weekly distrbution, but i want to do it right he is a a total flake!
