Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Windows charged on credit card

We had new windows installed and charged on credit card. Job was not completed when supposed to. Contacted credit card co and disputed charge. Job is competed now and window co is threatening lien on our propery. No money was removed from window co acct, and no refund to us. It was a temporary dispute until job done. Credit card co has been notified to remove dispute. Can window co put a lien on our propery even tho they have been paid?

Re: Windows charged on credit card

It's unclear from your question whether or not the Window company really has received payment.

Bottom line: if the Window company performed work on your residence and hasn't received compensation, they may record a mechanics lien on your property. If they have received full compensation, then the lien is fraudulent and you should contact an attorney directly.
