my father have batttery crime and i wanted to how can i help him he is 76 years old and has mental illness

Good heavens - please hire him a lawyer well in advance of his court appearance! And have him visit a neurologist and explain the behavior to the neurologist.

The only way you can help your father is to make sure he has a good attorney. Fact of mental illness can be grounds for legal defense but only a lawyer will know how to use it. If you cannot afford a private attorney, your father might be eligible to get a public defender.
