Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Criminal History

How can I obtain a criminal history record for my self? I had a misdemeanor back in 1988 and it was supposed to be removed. How can I be sure it has been removed? I would like to receive a free criminal history record. Is there a website I can go to?

Thanks !

The best way to make sure it's been "removed" is to obtain your own rap sheet. The problem is that misdemeanor convictions aren't "removed" from one's criminal history (rap sheet). There are a few post-conviction remedies, but none removes the conviction. I can explain this better in a conversation which I'd be happy to have with you at no charge. It will cost about $50.00 to get your rap sheet. If you'd like to discuss this further, don't hesitate to contact me.
