Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

neighbor from hell

can a neighbor take video pictures of you on your own property and post them on his website. Also, can he record you using audio while in your home or on your own property. He has video and audio on a post on the edge of his property. He's not using the equipment to watch his property, he is using it to watch and listen to his neighbors. Is this leagl and what can we do? The legal system is no help at all.

Re: neighbor from hell

There are prohibitions against eavesdropping. But if he his recording what is done in public although on private property (i.e. he is not recording what you are doing inside your house, your phone calls, etc) then you might have a case for invasion of privacy. But that is not a criminal matter. Consult a civil attorney.
