That depends on many things, and you don't offer any information to determine the answer. You really need to have a conversation with a criminal lawyer in Los Angeles. Email is too cumbersome, as the answer to one question will lead to another question, etc. If you'd like to talk to me about it, don't hesitate to call. Steve Mandell 310 393 0639

If it's a misdemeanor, a California attorney may be able to resolve it for you without you being present. If it is a felony you will probably need to be present for court appearances. Hire a California attorney is the short answer. Good luck!

Same way anyone else can: by following the court procedure rules and making all required court appearances. If you are asking if you have to come to CA on a civil case, NO, not unless you have to testify. Your attorney can do everything else.

If you are asking if you have to come to CA on a criminal case, then:

On felony charges, the defendant must be personally present at every court hearing and appearance. On misdemeanors and infractions, the attorney can appear in court without the defendant being present, and any plea bargain deal could be handled by notarized paperwork.

If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me.
