Can a person with a green card do a plea agreement to serve 6 months or will there be problems with immigration? Judge offered 6months if they plea open.

Re: Plea agreement

It depends on the charge. A six month sentence may fall into the petty offense exception. However, the type of charge may trump that exception. You should consult with an immigration attorney who can sit down a review the charging information, any substantiating statements offerred to the court to justify the plea and the the plea agreement. Re: Plea agreement

This depends entirely on the charge. This situation needs be reviewed carefully by an immigration attorney as there might be several different immigration issues involved especially if the person has anything else on their record.
