Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I would like to know about restraining order laws, and how to over rule a past p

My parents put a restraining order on my boyfriend. The order is for three years. In a year and 2 months I will be 18. I was wondering if it was possibe to change the order, and make it not in effect onceI turn 18. It is my decision weither or not I want to see him when I am 18, right?? My parents can't tell me what to do, so how do I go about taking the restraining order off him in a year, and is that even possibe.

It is possible that that the restraining order includes your parents and their property. If so your boyfriend will violate the order if he visits. Of course when you are 18 you have the right to move to another location.

Without knowing the content of the restraining order, it is difficult to say. If the restraining order includes your parents and their home he cannot come to their home or other wise violate the restraining order.

The court did not issue a restraining order without some evidence of stalking, violence or other conduct that justified the issuance of the restrining order. You should consider discussing your relationship with this man with a professional. A few sessions with a professional counselor will help you understand your desire for this relationship.
