Suspected Burglary!!!!!!

If suspected of burglary where money was stolen out of a restaurant, what are the outlines that consider you eligible for formal criminal prosecution? The amount was more or less $4k.

If there is probable cause to believe you are guilty then you can be prosecuted.

In practice, DAs usually don't prosecute minor crimes unless they think they are likely to win -- in other words, they believe that most jurors who see the evidence would be convinced beyond a reasonable doubt of the defendant's guilt. But this is not a requirement, and prosecutors are allowed to pursue long-shot cases if they genuinely believe in the defendant's guilt.
