If you were on 'informal probation' with no court dates to return to, no terms of probation to complete such as classes, jail, fines, etc., then the probation probably ended and the case file is closed.

However, if your probation required reporting in, or you failed to appear at court dates, or failed to pay fines, serve time, go to classes or programs, then there will be an arrest warrant for you. In that case, you would be arrested if you come in contact with law enforcement or customs at any time.

If you are a citizen, not illegal, and there is no arrest warrant, then you could possibly apply for a passport by mail.
