Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

sexual discrimination

I am a male and I want to join the DAR but they will only admit female members. Isn't this sexual discrimination? Or at the least couldn't they lose their tax exempt status if they deny membership to males?

I'd rather sue to join Curves, but whatever floats your boat....

Re: sexual discrimination

Given their history of being anti-black and right wing, I am not sure why anyone would want to join them. If they do not receive taxpayer funding you probably could not sue them; if they do, you still have the problem that their allowing only female members might not be considered invidious discrimination. In any case, it would cost tens of thousands if not more to sue. Is that really worthwhile to you?
