Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Providing Alcohol for Minors

I received a citation for providing alcohol for minors (they were 20). My intention was for them to hold the alcohol for me, but they ended up drinking it. I was caught by an undercover officer outside of a liquor store. Do I need a lawyer? Should I just plead guilty? This is my first offense, is there possibility of jail time?

All criminal charges are serious. You would be foolish to "just plead guilty" unless you don't care if you spend six months or a year in jail and never ever be able to get a job thereafter. Get legal advice from an attorney in whom you have confidence.

Jail? Yes, otherwise you wouldn't have been arrested. The prosecutor's job is to put people in jail.

If you want experienced counsel to help you minimize the penalties and punishment you face, feel free to contact me. With proper handling, you may be able to negotiate a deal that involves only modest fines.
