Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

Novel

I have used a famous person (Charlie Chaplin) in my book and his first name on the front cover. The book has nothing to do with him, but he is represented throughout the book as light humor. It is legal to use his name?

Re: Novel

Maybe. You should consult a lawyer who can look at the specific facts and advise you.

Your publisher will probably have an opinion about this.. but if you're self-publishing, be very cautious.
