Legal Question in Family Law in California

Currently 14 yr old would like to return to the home of his father. He was adopted 7 years ago by his fathers brother due to fam courts taking parental rights away.from his real father due to fathers. inability to speak up for himself after losing his daughter to a car accident that did not involve this father but emotionally devastated him due to the loss. Since then father has remarried and been employed for 7 years and has refferences.new wife and his father would love to have him back in his life. is it possible for this to happen at age 14 will the courts honorthe 14 yr olds wish allowing him to choose his dad? california courts napa took custody but both families relocated to sonoma county ca. which courts? etc

If all parties are in Sonoma, it would be prudent to transfer the case to that jurisdiction. A 14-year-old child may be allowed by the court to state a preference on placement but that does not control the outcome of the situation.
