Legal Question in Family Law in California

absent spouse

my husband left me in 2002. he was going home to bulgaria for vacation, but he never came home. i contacted the embassy in sophia to see if they ould help me find him. i got a response from them stating he ws traveling in europe, but they couldn't pin point his location. they suggested i pull his green card, but he had been there too long to re enter the states. i want a divorce, but i don't know how difficult the process will be with him gone. i have documentation from the consulate stating these facts. can you give me some advice please? i need to get on with my life and any help you can give will be appreciated. thank you

Re: absent spouse

It is relatively simple to process your dissolution. Your husband, if he cannot be found, may be served by publication in a newspaper. It will take a little extra time to complete as service will not be complete until the publication has been done. Your dissolution can be final 6 months after publication is compltete. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

You may try service via publication, however, there may be jurisdictional issues as he is in another country. Contact me directly for assistance.
