Legal Question in Family Law in California

What is the (CA) law concerning a divorced couple where the father gets "every other weekend" and the mother schedules a weekly activity (i.e. baseball league ) that obviously occurs on the fathers' scheduled times with child? Joint legal, joint physical, mother has child about 80% of time, about 1 hour drive between homes.

The law is that a parent cannot schedule anything during the other parent's custodial time. My son only played about 25% of his soccer and baseball games because his mother stood on her rights that he not participate in activities I scheduled on her time. So he got to go to all his practices but only a few of his games. Makes me sad to this day, but she was legally right.
