child custody af ter death of parents

the child's parents wish to grant me custody of child in the event of thier deaths. I am not legally related to either parent. Neither parent wishes for the maternal grandmother to have custody. Paternal family is not interested in custody. How can the parents make these wishes known and legal?

Each of the parents should prepare a will which names you the guardian of their children.
