Legal Question in Family Law in California

child custody

I have three children that I share Joint custody with their mother. For the past two years the oldest two, ages 16 and 12 refuse to live with their mother, just the eight year old goes back and forth. Now she is suing for full custody of all the kids. Is there an age when the kids can choose, regardless of the court order?

Re: child custody

There is no set age. The court will likely consider preferences of your two older daughters provided their desire for wanting to stay with you reflects mature reasoning.
