Child Custody

What happens when a consenting father is released of his parental rights? Is the mother awarded sole legal custody? Can the father still make any decisions regarding the health, welfare and education of the child?

Do you mean his parental rights were terminated? In that case, the "father" would have no rights pertaining to the minor child.
