Legal Question in Family Law in California

Child Support Determination

I`m trying to find out how child support would be established (including type of support documents required to provide) if the NCP is in a third world country.

Even out of the area cases might help, as so far local case workers have never had such a case. Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Child Support Determination

I would suspect that you will need a certified court order of paternity, or divorce with the child listed as a chid of the marriage. Then you would need to provide proof of your income. If you have a current child support order a certified copy should be included. The local child support enforcement agency should be able to do this for you. This agency would also have the best chance of success. You could also call the embassy or consulate of the foriegn country his is residing in and ask for some information about enforcing child support orders in that country.
