Legal Question in Family Law in California

child support

I have a child who will be 18 in October of 2001, Her father has not paid support since she was two. He lives in Colorado, I live in Ca. How do I file for back child support in her name? The court order is in colorado. Can I do this myself or do I need an attorney? Do I file here or must I file in Colorado? Thank you for your help, Sincerely--name removed

Re: child support

The other atty response was correct, as far as it went. You could also contact the DA in the county you live in and s/he will contact the DA where H lives. Or you could contact the DA in Colorado (his county) and ask for forms to have them do the collection.

If he is able to pay, you might be able to get a Colo atty to take it on a contingent fee basis (a percentage)
