Legal Question in Family Law in California

Default / judgement

I have moved the children and myslef to Arizona after filing for divorce in California 6 years ago. I went back to finish the divorce which has child custody and support orders. The paperwork was sent back to me with the following remarks:

DEFAULT/JUDGEMENT is returned by Court for the following reasons: A CHANGE OF ADDRESS IS REQUIRED / THE DECLARATION OF DISCLOSURE IS REQUIRED.

What do I do to meet the Courts wants, and where do I get the forms?

Thank you,

Torrie

Reply: Default / judgement

You are required to prepare and serve a Preliminary Declaration of Disclosure. If this is a default or uncontested dissolution you will also need a Final Declaration of Disclosure. The Court is also asking you to prepare and file a Notice of Change of Address. These are judicial council forms that are available over the internet or at the courthouse.

It soulds like you may need some help from a qualified paralegal assistant to fill out the remaining forms. Our office offers paralegal support services by qualified paralegals who are attorney supervised.

You will also find some valuable family law information and articles at my web site which is www.calattorney.com

Good luck to you!
