Legal Question in Family Law in California

emanstipation

I am 15 years old. I will be 16 in 4 weeks. Both of my parents are in prison. I live with my step brother. I am not allowed to see my other little brother, even though I basiclly raised him until we got seperated. My plans are to get emanstipated, get a job, and a little apartment so I can try to get custody of my little brother. So my question is, does my plan seem achievable? Should I even try? If I do try, what are the requirements? Where and how do I start?

Re: emanstipation

You have little, if any, chance of getting custody of your sibling until you turn 18. Even then, it's going to be tough. You might want to contact legal aid for an attorney.
