Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex-husband pays child support. The Attorney General's office was taking care of it. My ex just now informed me today he received a letter by his employer he's been laid off. Though this happed last week as he filed for unemployment last Thursday. What do I need to do to make sure I still get child support? Can I have the Attorney General's office take the child support from his unemployment? He also owe's me back child support still from during the divorce that the judge ordered which is $1200. I'm in CA and he's in Texas. Can I take measures here in CA against him.

If he asks, his support will be reduced while he is not working. Until he asks for a reduction, the full amount remains due.
