Father won't let me leave and he's verbally abusing and scaring me; says I'm a d

I recently moved up to Fresno with my father because he said I had no legal rights. I tried to make the best of it, but my dad is impossible to live with. He's verbally abusive. He tells my I'm a disappointment and my friends don't like me because I'm a bitch. He's never physically hurt me, but he slams things and drives eratically. My mom informed me that I do have a right to live where I want, so I want to move back in with her. But my dad is being difficult and saying I can't leave until December. I don't think I can last until then. I've suffered mental abuse from him for 10 years and can't take it anymore. My mom is doing the best she can to get the ball rolling, but I'm dying inside right NOW. Is there anything we can do so I can live with her until the case goes to court? I'm seriously afraid to be here. He's also threatened to put my brother and me in foster care. Threats and making people feel like scum is his specialty. Does anybody know of a loop hole?

You probably can do nothing until there is a hearing on the matter, paricularly if the matter is in San Diego County, where they gernerally will not change custody ex-parte. Your mother should she and attorney and get the matter expedited, if at all possible. More facts could give you a more informed answer. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
